Godbout Scores Second Weekly Accolade

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College junior midfielder Brittney Godbout (Cranston, RI) was selected to the latest edition of the Team of the Week for the week ending Sept. 17. Less than twenty-four hours earlier, she was named the Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

In just two matches for the Anchorwomen, Godbout recorded 10 points, on four goals and two assists. On Sept. 12, she posted two markers and dished out a helper for a career-high five points as RIC defeated Coast Guard, 4-1. Godbout matched her career-high five point effort (2-1), including the game-winning goal, in the Anchorwomen’s, 4-0, win over Little East foe Southern Maine on Sept. 16. The offensive catalyst leads the team in scoring with four goals and five assists for 13 points.

A transfer from the Community College of Rhode Island, Godbout recorded 13 goals and 13 assists for 39 points in just two seasons of action for the Knights.

Head Coach Denis Chartier’s team is 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the Little East on the season. RIC is off to its best start since the 1999 squad opened the season with a 6-0 mark.

In upcoming action, RIC will host UMass Boston at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.
