Mike Naylor Set to Play in NEIBA All-Star Game
at Fenway Park on July 22


Providence, RIóRhode Island College senior right fielder Mike Naylor (Warwick, RI) was selected by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) to the New England Div. III All-Star Team and will play in the 32nd Annual College Baseball All-Star Game held at Fenway Park on Sunday, July 22.


The Div. III team will join a team of Div. II All-Stars to face a squad filled with Division I All-Stars. The game will be played following the Boston Red Sox vs. the Chicago White Sox contest.


Naylor was named First Team All-Little East Conference and Second Team All-New England as an outfielder this past spring. He played in 35 games, starting all of them. He batted .380 (49-for-129) with 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 38 RBI and five stolen bases. He owned a .651 slugging percentage, a .468 on-base percentage and a .975 fielding percentage. The team MVP led the squad in RBI, was tied for first in homers, tied for second in doubles, and was third in hits. He is RICís all-time leader in career hits and runs scored.




Head Coach Jay Grenierís team finished the season with a 21-14 overall record and an 8-6 mark (fourth place) in the Little East Conference. RICís 21 wins ties the 2006 editionís total for the most victories in a season since the 1979 squad won 24.
