Mike Naylor Named Second Team All-ECAC


Providence, RIóRhode Island College senior right fielder Mike Naylor (Warwick, RI) was named Second Team All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for his performance in baseball this past spring.


Naylor was also named First Team All-Little East Conference and Second Team All-New England as an outfielder this past season. He played in 35 games, starting all of them. He batted .380 (49-for-129) with 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 38 RBI and five stolen bases. He owned a .651 slugging percentage, a .468 on-base percentage and a .975 fielding percentage. The team MVP led the squad in RBI, was tied for first in homers, tied for second in doubles, and was third in hits. He is RICís all-time leader in career hits and runs scored.


Head Coach Jay Grenierís team finished the season with a 21-14 overall record and an 8-6 mark (fourth place) in the Little East Conference. RICís 21 wins ties the 2006 editionís total for the most victories in a season since the 1979 squad won 24.
