Rhode Island College Menís Cross Country
Ties for 28th at New England Championships


New London, CTóThe Rhode Island College menís cross country team tied for 28th overall (47 teams) with a score of 849 at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday, Nov. 10. Amherst won the meet with a score of 117.


Junior team MVP Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) was RICís top runner, placing 122nd (330 runners) with a time of 26:59.9. Freshman Cesar Smith (Bristol, RI) placed 138th with a time of 27:12.9. Freshman Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed 166th with a time of 27:54.1. Senior Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed 208th with a time of 28:43.4. Junior David Simpson (West Warwick, RI) placed 237th with a time of 29:27.3. Freshman Tony Yin (Attleboro, MA) placed 257th with a time of 30:10.0. Junior Hunter Stewart (Foster, RI) placed 273rd with a time of 31:01.1.
