Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior midfielder Sydney Culbertson (North Kingstown, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

Rhode Island College earned its first conference victory against the Panthers, snapping a 12-game losing streak. Earlier in the week, Culbertson netted seven goals and handed out an assist in a 16-13 loss to Southern Maine.

On the season, Culbertson has played in eight games, starting all of them. She has 23 goals and 15 assists for 38 points, leading the team in all three categories. Culbertson also has 18 ground balls, 16 draw controls and four caused turnovers.

Head Coach Denis Chartier’s team is currently 1-7 overall and 1-3 (fifth place tie) in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, RIC will play at Lasell on Tuesday, Apr. 15.
