Salem, VAóRhode Island College senior first baseman Christie Lotti (Waterford, CT) was named a Second Team All-American for her performance in softball this season. Lotti received the award at the NCAA Div. III Softball Tournament National Championship Banquet, held at the Civic Center in Salem, Virginia on Thursday evening.

Lotti has already been named First Team All-New England, garnered her third consecutive Little East Conference Player of the Year award and fourth straight First Team All-LEC selection. She has played in 43 games, starting all of them, batting .455 (65-for-143) with 56 runs scored (a new RIC record), 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 30 RBI and 23 stolen bases. Lotti has walked a team-leading 27 times. She owns a .608 slugging percentage, a .541 on-base percentage and a .982 fielding percentage. Lotti holds 13 Rhode Island College career records and eight single-season marks.




Head Coach Maria Morinís Anchorwomen are the eighth seed in the NCAA Div. III Softball Tournamentís National Championship Round, which begins on Friday, May 16. Eighth-seeded Rhode Island College (36-7) will face top-seeded Louisiana College (42-5) at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia on Friday, May 16. First pitch is scheduled for  11 a.m.
