Rhode Island College Softball Ends Season Ranked No. 10 Nationally


Providence, R.I.óThe Rhode Island College softball team was ranked No. 10 in the nation as of the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Div. III Top 25 Poll. It is the highest ranking in program history.




The National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll is voted on by eight NCAA Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.


Head Coach Maria Morinís Anchorwomen finished the season with a 36-9 overall record and a 12-2 (first place tie) in the Little East Conference. RIC clinched a share of the Little East Conference Regular Season Championship (fourth straight), won the Little East Tournament (third straight), was selected for the NCAA Div. III Softball Tournament (third straight), won the NCAA Div. III New England Region (second straight) and advanced to the NCAA Div. III National Championship Round (second straight.)
