17 Rhode Island College
Student-Athletes Named to
Little East Conference Spring All-Academic Team
|
|
|
|
|
|
Providence, RI—The
Little East Conference office recently announced the honorees for
the inaugural All-Academic teams for the 2008 spring season and 17
Rhode Island College student-athletes were selected.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Student-athletes earned recognition on the
all-academic teams based on the following criteria: at least a
sophomore academic and athletic standing, and a minimum cumulative
grade point average of a 3.2. The conference office honored
student-athletes in the following sports:
baseball,
men’s and women’ lacrosse, softball, men’s tennis, and men’s and
women’s outdoor track and field. |

The following RIC student-athletes were recognized: |

|
Baseball:
Junior Eric Fama (Wappingers Fall, NY) and sophomore Jared
Rossi (Johnston, RI). |
|
|
|
Women’s Lacrosse:
Sophomore Emily Conte (North Providence, RI), sophomore
Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI), senior Sydney Culbertson
(North Kingstown, RI) and senior Marissa Kielbasinski
(Windsor, CT). |

|
Softball:
Sophomore Jackie Dube (Barrington, NH), senior Christie
Lotti (Waterford, CT), junior Kelli McCartin (Cranston, RI),
senior Jeanne Rosa (Milford, CT) and sophomore Robyn
Zemienieski (Old Saybrook, CT). |

Men’s Tennis:
Junior David Haggerty (Woonsocket, RI) and junior Drew
Hochman (Cranston, RI). |

Men’s Outdoor Track and Field:
Junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI), junior Hunter
Stewart (Johnston, RI) and senior Mike Van Gieson (Foster,
