RIC’s Denis Chartier Resigns as
Head Women’s Soccer and Lacrosse Coach




Providence, RI—Rhode Island College Head Women’s Soccer and Lacrosse Coach Denis Chartier has resigned from his position. A search for a new coach for both programs will begin immediately.








Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach Jessica Knobel has been named the Interim Head Women’s Soccer Coach.



Chartier guided the Anchorwomen’s soccer program for two seasons, compiling a 24-17-1 (.583) career mark. He is the first coach in the program’s history to post back-to-back 10-plus win seasons, going 10-9-1 in 2007 and 14-8 in 2006. Chartier led RIC to its first postseason bid in ’06, competing in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Div. III Women’s Soccer Tournament.


He led the women’s lacrosse program to a 6-23 (.207) record in two seasons.
