Kaseem Johnson Named to

Little East Conference Weekly Honor Roll




Providence, RI—Rhode Island College junior forward Kaseem Johnson (New Haven, CT) was named to the Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for his performance in three games last week.








Johnson helped RIC to a 3-0 week, earning victories over Roger Williams, 76-57, on Jan. 7, Framingham State, 97-83 on Jan. 10 and LEC rival Plymouth State, 74-63 on Jan. 12. He averaged a double-double, logging 15.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Johnson set the tone early vs. Roger Williams, posting 13 of his team-high 19 points in the first half. He finished the game with 13 rebounds, shooting 8-for-12 from the field. He logged his fourth double-double of the season, matching his season-high with 19 points and pulling in a season-best 16 rebounds vs. Framingham State


For the season, he has played in 13 games, starting 12 of them. He is averaging 11.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.


Head Coach Bob Walsh’s team is 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at LEC rival Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
