Cameron Stewart Named to Little East Conference
Weekly Honor Roll




Providence, RIóRhode Island College junior guard Cameron Stewart (Newport, RI) was named to the Little East Conference Menís Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for his performance in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.








He came off the bench to average 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Stewart pumped in a team-high 21 points to go along with five boards and three assists as the Anchormen took down No. 5 ranked UMass Dartmouth, 79-72, on Tuesday, Feb. 12. He logged 19 points and five rebounds as RIC downed Southern Maine, 79-72, on Feb. 16.



For the season, he has played in 23 games, starting 14 of them. Stewart is averaging 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game.



Head Coach Bob Walshís team is 18-5 overall and 10-2 (first place tie) in the Little East Conference. The Anchormen control their own destiny with two regular season games left. If RIC wins both contests, it will secure homecourt advantage throughout the upcoming 2008 Little East Conference Menís Basketball Tournament.
