Jackie Gervais Named to Brandeis Invitational’s
All-Tournament Team




Waltham, MA—Senior libero Jackie Gervais (Woonsocket, RI) was named to the Brandeis Invitational’s All-Tournament Team for her performance in four women’s volleyball matches this past weekend.




She saw action in 14 games in four matches for the Anchorwomen at the tourney, logging two service aces and 62 digs.

RIC lost all four of its matches at the tourney, dropping to 2-7 on the season. The Anchorwomen lost the opener, 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-16), to Tufts on Sept. 12. Sophomore outside hitter Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) led the squad with nine kills, while classmate middle blocker Erin St. Jacques (Warwick, RI) and junior outside hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) each posted four winners. Gervais logged 14 digs, while sophomore setter Nicole Enos (Coventry, RI) handed out 11 assists.


Rhode Island College fell, 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 18-25), to Trinity on Sept. 12. Corriveau and Heidel led the team with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Gervais posted 24 digs and Enos dished out 25 assists.


The Anchorwomen came back for day two of the tourney and dropped their third match, 3-1 (25-19, 16-25, 21-25, 22-25), to Babson. St. Jacques posted 12 kills, while Corriveau chipped in with eight winners and 19 digs.


RIC wrapped up the tourney with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-8, 25-17) loss to the hosts. Corriveau led the way with eight kills and 20 digs. Gervais and junior right side hitter Catherine Fleming (Riverside, RI) registered 11 and 12 digs, respectively.


In upcoming action, RIC will play at Western New England on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
