Providence, RI-The Little East Conference recognized Rhode Island College junior right fielder Michelle Perrin (Saugus, MA) and sophomore pitcher Amanda Berard (Swansea, MA) for their performance in a 6-0 week for the Anchorwomen.

Perrin was named the Little East Conference Softball Player of the Week. She was white-hot from the dish this past week, registering a .632 batting average (12-for-19) with six runs scored, nine doubles and seven RBI. Perrin recorded multiple hits in four of her past six games, including a pair of four-hit performances. She went 4-for-7 with a double and three RBI in a Little East Conference sweep of Southern Maine on Saturday. For the season, she has played in 17 games, starting 16 of them. Perrin is batting .400 (18-for-45) with eight runs scored, two doubles and 10 RBI.



 Sophomore Pitcher Amanda Berard


Berard was named the Little East Conference Pitcher of the Week. She posted a 2-0 record and collected a save in 15.1 innings this past week. In five appearances, Berard did not allow an earned run and struck out 15. She hurled a complete game victory against Worcester State, scattering two hits and two walks, while recording four strikeouts. Berard also threw three shutout innings to register a save against Southern Maine on Saturday. For the season, she has appeared in 15 games, starting two of them. Berard is 5-1 with a .031 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched.


Head Coach Maria Morinís Anchorwomen are currently ranked No. 23 in the nation. RIC is 16-2 overall and 2-0 (first place) in the Little East.


In upcoming action, RIC will play at Bridgewater State tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
