ALMONTE TALLIES TWICE IN, 19-3, LOSS
TO WESTFIELD STATE

 

Westfield, MASophomore attack Suany Almonte (Warwick, RI) scored two of RIC's three goals in a 19-3 loss at Westfield State in collegiate women's lacrosse action on Thursday night.

 Westfield State sophomore Laura Chiricosta had six goals and three assists, while sophomore Rachel Dionne scored four goals to lead the Owls.

 

 

 

 The victory was the sixth straight for the Owls, who boosted their record to 7-1.  Rhode Island College drops to 1-6.

 

 

 

 Westfield scored six goals in the fist eight minutes - three by Chiricosta and two from senior Kasey Rogers - to jump out to a 6-0 lead. The Owls led at halftime, 15-3.

 

 

 

 Rogers tallied three goals and junior Ally Brown  had two goals and two assists. Also scoring two goals was freshman Jen Lyon.

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference play at Keene State on Saturday, Apr. 4.
