Thirteen Rhode Island College Student-Athletes Named to Little East Conference
Spring All-Academic Team

Providence, RI-The Little East Conference office recently announced the honorees for the Spring All-Academic teams for the 2009 season and 13 Rhode Island College student-athletes were selected.

 

Student-athletes earned recognition on the all-academic teams based on the following criteria: at least a sophomore academic and athletic standing, and a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.2. The conference office honored student-athletes in the following sports: baseball, women’s lacrosse, softball, men’s tennis and men’s and women’s track & field.

 

The following RIC student-athletes were honored:

 

BASEBALL: Senior Eric Fama (Wappingers Falls, NY) and junior Jared Rossi (Johnston, RI).

 

WOMEN’S LACROSSE: Senior Sherri Heard (Coventry, RI), junior Emily Conte (North Providence, RI) and sophomore Hilary Switzer (Woonsocket, RI).

 

SOFTBALL: Senior Kelli McCartin (Cranston, RI), junior Jenna Deveines (Lowville, NY), sophomore Laura DeNoncour (Johnston, RI) and sophomore Donielle Mattoon (Coventry, RI).

 

MEN’S TENNIS: Sophomore Nate Rebello (Pawtucket, RI).

 

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD: Senior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI), junior Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) and sophomore Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI).
