Women’s Lacrosse Places Three
on Little East Weekly Awards
|

Island College sophomore attacker Nicky Drolet (Somersworth, NH),
freshman midfielder Courtney McKiernan (Hope, RI) and
freshman goalkeeper Kerri Montgomery (Franklin, MA) were
recognized by the Little East Conference for their performance in a
1-1 week for the Anchorwomen. |

Drolet was named the Little East Conference Women’s
Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.
She scored nine goals and tallied four assists for 13
points. She also collected four ground balls, two draw controls and
a caused turnover. Drolet notched four goals and two assists as RIC
cruised by Sage, 20-2, on March 27. For the season, she has played
in three games, starting all of them. Drolet has 14 goals, six
assists, 20 points, 10 ground balls, two draw controls and one
caused turnover. |

McKiernan was named the Little East Conference
Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
McKiernan grabbed up 10 ground balls and three draw
controls while causing four turnovers in two games. She tallied four
ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls in
Saturday's, 20-2, victory over Sage. For the season, she has played
in three games, starting all of them. McKiernan leads the team with
15 ground balls, to go along with six draw controls and seven caused
turnovers. |

Montgomery was named the Little East Conference Women’s Lacrosse
Goalkeeper of the Week. Her
1-1 week featured 22 saves, a 9.50 goals against average and a .537
save percentage. Rhode Island College's rookie netminder shined on
March 27, allowing a scant two goals in a 20-2 victory over Sage.
For the season, she has played every minute in RIC's three games,
compiling 33 saves, a 8.67 goals against average and a .559 save
percentage. She has also totaled 11 ground balls. |
