Milton, Mass.-Senior Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, MA) and junior Jessie Koffman (Andover, MA) led all Curry scorers with four goals and four assists for eight points each as the Colonels defeated Rhode Island College, 25-5, in non-conference women’s lacrosse action. With the win, Curry improves to 11-4 overall, while the Anchorwomen fall to 3-6 overall.


Curry did most of its damage in the first half, taking a 18-4 lead into intermission.


Senior Carissa Lauyer (Bloomsbury, NJ) also scored four goals, while dishing out one assist. Senior Rachel Robichaud (Billerica, MA) and juniors Elissa Bulgatz (Chicago, IL) and Kelly Champagne (Wolfeboro, NH) each scored three goals.  Freshman Ana Bottary (Hull, MA) scored two goals and sophomores Sam Dziubek (Southington, CT) and Heather Breton (Wolfeboro, NH) tallied one.


The Anchorwomen were led by freshman Haley Lattinville (North Kingstown, RI) who finished the day with two goals.  Sophomores Nicky Drolet (Somersworth, NH) and Molly Voyer (Lincoln, RI) and freshman Ashley Appel (Foxboro, MA) each had one.


The Colonels would possess the ball most of the second half, but still outscored the Anchorwomen 7-1. Curry also won 24 of 32 draw controls and had 28 caused turnovers.


Junior Maria Lynch (Billerica, MA) played in net for the first half and made nine saves for the win. Junior Kate Noe (Greenwich, CT) and freshman Emily LeBlanc (Abington, MA) split time in the second half and made two stops each.  In net for Rhode Island College was freshman Kerri Montgomery (Franklin, MA) who made 10 saves.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East Conference play when it hosts UMass Dartmouth tomorrow at 4 p.m.
