Tabbed All-Little East Conference
RIC Receives Team
Sportsmanship Award
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College sophomores Jenna Childs (Cranston, RI) and
Nicky Drolet (Somersworth, NH) were named All-Little East
Conference for their performance in women’s lacrosse this past
season.
The
Anchorwomen were also the recipients of the Little East Conference
Team Sportsmanship Award. |

Childs was named First Team
All-Little East as a defender. She played in 12 games, starting all
of them. Childs had four goals and one assist for five points to go
along with seven shots, 43 ground balls, three draw controls and 18
caused turnovers. She was second on the team in ground balls. Childs
had two goals, one assist, five ground balls and two caused
turnovers in the Anchorwomen’s, 20-2, win over Sage on March 27. |

Drolet was named Second Team
All-Little East as an attacker. She played in 13 games, starting all
of them. Drolet had 43 goals and seven assists for 50 points to go
along with 94 shots, 24 ground balls, 18 draw controls and four
caused turnovers. She led the team in goals, assists, points and
shots. Drolet netted the game-winning goals in the Anchorwomen’s
wins over Lasell (March 18) and SUNY Maritime (April 8). She had
five goals, two assists and six ground balls in the season-opening
win over the Lasers. Drolet was named the Little East Conference
Offensive Player of the Week once. |

team finished the 2010 season with a 3-10 overall record and a
0-6 (seventh place) finish in the Little East Conference. |
