RIC (18-7, 12-2) raises its current season-high win streak to five games. The Anchormen, who clinched the outright 2010 Little East Conference Regular Season Championship with a 92-78 win at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday evening, are the top seed and will host the semifinal and final contests of the upcoming 2010 LEC Tournament on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27.

The Panthers (16-9, 8-6) are the fifth-seed and will travel to fourth-seeded UMass Dartmouth in first round action on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The Anchormen will host the winner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26.

"12-2 in this league is a great achievement," RIC Head Coach Bob Walsh said. "This team continues to grow and it is great to see. We came out with great intensity today and never gave our opponent any room to breathe."

Plymouth State senior forward Bryan Tracy (Manchester, NH) connected on a three-pointer 33 seconds into the game to put the Panthers up, 3-0. It would be the last lead of the night for the visitors as two free throws by RIC junior guard Nick Manson (Newport, RI) and a Choice jumper gave the hosts a lead they would never relinquish.

Plymouth State got within one point, 10-9, on a jumper by senior guard Jason O’Keefe (Everett, MA) at 13:50. The Anchormen responded with a 32-9 run over the next 11:23 to build a 24-point, 42-18, lead with 2:27 left in the half. RIC held a 22-point, 44-22, lead at halftime.

The Anchormen held Plymouth State to 21 percent (6-for-28) from the field in the first half and just eight percent (1-for-12) from three-point range. RIC shot 58 percent (18-for-31) in the first stanza and held a 21-15 advantage on the boards.

The lead swelled to a game-high 34 points, 63-29, with 13:56 remaining in the second half. The Panthers chipped the deficit down to 15 points, 74-59, with 2:33 left, paced by four three-pointers by sophomore guard Brian Chergey (Bow, NH), but were never able to get back into contention as RIC cruised to the 19-point victory.

Every player who dressed for the Anchormen scored at least three points. Manson contributed 12 points and five rebounds, while junior guard Antone Gray (Providence, RI) chipped in with eight points and seven assists.

O’Keefe led Plymouth State with 14 points, all of which came in the first half.

The Anchormen shot 54 percent (30-for-56) from the field in the game, while the Panthers shot 37 percent (22-for-59).
