Team Effort Leads RIC Women's Volleyball Past WNEC
Anchorwomen Get Back to .500 in, 3-1, Victory

Chicopee, MA-Sophomore outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) registered 16 kills, 11 digs and four blocks as the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team evened their record (6-6) in a 3-1 win at Western New England on Wednesday evening.

RIC took the first set, 25-20, before the Golden Bears (2-8) took the second stanza, 25-17, to tie the match. The Anchorwomen squeaked by in set three, 25-21, before putting the contest away with a decisive, 25-13, final set victory.


Senior middle blocker Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) was dominant from the service line, picking up 12 service aces to go along with eight kills, eight digs and five blocks.


Sophomore middle blocker Kalyn Archer (Warwick, RI)  posted nine winners and four swats, while classmate setter Jessica Ho (Providence, RI) handed out 41 assists.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East Conference play at home against Keene State on Saturday, Sept. 18 and then host Westfield State later that same day.
