RIC SWEEPS WEEKLY LITTLE EAST WOMEN’S LACROSSE HONORS
|
|
Providence, RI—Junior
attacker Nicky Drolet (Somersworth, NH) was named the Little
East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and
three additional Anchorwomen were recognized for their respective
performances in RIC’s season-opening, 15-4, win over Emmanuel on
Saturday afternoon. |

Drolet led the way offensively with three goals and
three assists for a game-high six-point effort. She also grabbed
one ground ball and one draw control. |

Freshman Taryn Carbone (Cranston,
RI) was named the Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week.
She made six saves to earn her first collegiate win. |

Freshman attacker Ashley
Signoriello (Cranston, RI) was named the Little East Conference
Defensive Player of the Week. She picked up a game-high seven ground
balls to go along with two goals, one assist and two draw controls. |

Freshman midfielder Jessalyn
O’Neill (North Providence, RI) was named the Little East
Conference Rookie of the Week. She had three goals, one ground ball
and a draw control. |

In upcoming action, Head Coach
Mike Koperda’s team (1-0) will travel to Worcester State for a 7
p.m. contest tomorrow evening. |
