DiBlasi Wins 400m Hurdles and Graham Breaks Pole Vault Record as RIC Opens Outdoor Campaign
Anchorwomen Place Seventh Overall at Westfield State

Providence, RI-Senior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the 400m hurdles (1:06.37) and 12th in the 100m (13.90), while freshman Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) broke the RIC record in the pole vault with a second place (2.75m) finish, as the Rhode Island College womenís track & field team opened up the outdoor portion of their season at Westfield Stateís Jerry Gravel Classic on Saturday afternoon.


RIC placed seventh (38.0) out of the 18-team field. Springfield won the meet (109.5).

Graham also placed 17th in the 100m hurdles (20.14). Senior Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) placed second in the 5,000m (18:48.41).


Sophomore Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) placed eighth in the long jump (4.74m).

The 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams comprised of DiBlasi, Graham, Mangum and freshman Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) placed fifth (52.72) and third (4:16.01), respectively. Miller equaled DiBlasiís effort in the 100m (13.90).


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday, April 2.
