Gray Named Little East
Player of the Week

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College senior guard Antone Gray (Providence, RI) named the Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance in two games last week.




Gray averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 11.5 assists and a steal per game to lead Rhode Island College to a 1-1 week. He posted a pair of double-doubles en route to accounting for 45 percent (84-of-186) of the Anchormen’s offensive output. Gray reached double figures in scoring in each contest, while shooting at a 45 percent (9-for-20) clip from the field and 42 percent (5-for-12) from behind the three-point line.


On Jan. 5, he nearly registered a triple-double at Roger Williams by scoring 16 points, dishing out a career-high 12 helpers and pulling in seven rebounds in a 90-80 overtime loss. Gray helped Rhode Island College remain unbeaten in Little East action against Keene State on Jan. 8 by pouring in 16 points and dishing out 11 assists as the Anchormen downed the Owls, 96-82.


Head Coach Bob Walsh’s team is 8-3 overall and 3-0 (first place tie) in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, RIC will continue league play at Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
