Coro Named Little East
Player of the Week

Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College junior guard Stephanie Coro (North Providence, RI) named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in two games last week.

Coro averaged 22.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game to help Rhode Island College post a pair of home victories this past week. She connected on 47 percent (14-for-30) of her attempts from the field, including a consistent 53 percent (8-for-15) from downtown.

Coro made a season-best 10 field goals, including six trifectas, to score 30 points—three shy of her career high—in the Anchorwomen’s, 68-56, victory against Keene State on Jan. 8. Two days earlier, Coro registered 14 points and collected five rebounds in a 77-62 win against Roger Williams.

For the season, she has played in 12 games, starting all of them. Coro is averaging 18.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.3 steals per game.

Head Coach Marcus Reilly’s team is 10-2 overall and 2-1 (second place tie) in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, RIC will continue league play at Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
