Worcester, MA-Rhode Island College Head Wrestling Coach Jay Jones won the 150th match of his career (150-100-1) as the Anchormen defeated WPI, 31-12, in a battle of New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) rivals.


With the visitors trailing, 3-0, freshman Adam Lynch (New Milford, CT) started a six-bout win streak with a pin (2:46) over WPI's Joe Vanni at 174 lbs. Freshman Brandon Regnault (Johnston, RI) picked up a 2-1 decision in the first tiebreaker at 285 lbs., while senior Kevin Sutherland (Dauphin, PA) earned a major decision (12-2) at 149 lbs. with a victory over Matt Taber, as RIC built a commanding, 25-3, advantage after seven matches.

With RIC up 25-9 and two matches left, junior 165 lbs. Brendan Guarino (Lodi, NJ) pinned Tom Lacroix at 8:11 in the first tiebreaker.
