O’Connor Places Fifth at Elms Invitational
Anchorwomen Take Third in Second Effort of the 2011 Season

Chicopee, Mass.-Freshman Alyssa O’Connor (Portsmouth, RI) finished fifth overall (141 runners) with a time of 20:14 to lead Rhode Island College to a third place finish at the Elms College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon.


O’Connor’s effort helped the Anchorwomen secure a score of 112.0. Salve Regina won the meet with a score of 31.

Sophomore Jacqueline Hurteau (North Kingstown, RI) placed 12th with a time of 20:46, while sophomore Chelsea Marshall (New Bedford, MA) finished 26th with a time of 21:55.


Freshman Kayla Cataldo (Ronkonkoma, NY) placed 36th with a time of 22:38. Senior Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) posted a 41st-place effort with a time of 22:56. Junior Cameron Osteen (Steamboat Springs, CO) wrapped up the RIC contingent by placing 57th with a time of 24:07.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Gordon College on Saturday, Oct. 1.
