RICCI SCORES FOUR IN, 20-9, LOSS
TO WESTERN CONNECTICUT |

Danbury, Conn.-Despite
four goals from freshman attacker Jessica Ricci (Hope, RI),
the Rhode Island College women’s lacrosse team fell to Western
Connecticut State University, 20-9, in Little East Conference action
on Saturday afternoon played at The WAC. |

The Colonials (6-3, 2-0 LEC) raced
out to a 14-3 advantage at intermission and never looked back over
the final 30 minutes. |

Despite the decisive margin of
defeat, Rhode Island College (1-6, 0-2 LEC) was outshot just, 30-26,
in the loss, while also holding a 20-11 advantage in draw controls. |

Senior attacker Nicky Drolet
(Somersworth, NH) and sophomore attacker Ashley Signoriello
(Cranston, RI) each contributed two goals and an assist.

|
|
Senior attacker Molly Voyer
(Lincoln, RI) tallied a goal, while sophomore midfielder
Jessalyn O’Neill (North Providence, RI) notched a pair of
assists. |

|
Western junior attacker Nicole
Perrone (Brookfield, CT) finished with six total points after
netting five goals and an assist for the hosts. |
|
|
|
Junior attacker Devon
Edwards (Islip, NY), Western’s leading scorer on the season,
added four goals and three assists, while senior attacker Kaitlyn
Arconti (Danbury, CT) added a hat trick and one assist.
Sophomore midfielder Hyla Costello (Southington, CT) and
junior midfielder Emily Brooks (Kingston, NY) lit the lamp
twice each for the Colonials. |

Sophomore goalkeeper Karli Portnoy
(Sea Cliff, NY) made seven saves for Western and improved her
record to 6-3 on the year. RIC sophomore netminder Taryn Carbone
(Cranston, RI) turned away five of the Colonials' 30 shot
attempts and falls to 1-6 on the season. |

In upcoming action, Rhode Island
College will host Worcester State on Thursday, April 12 (4 p.m.). |
