Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.Sophomore Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) carded a two-day total of 161 (76, 85), which tied him for 141st overall (210 golfers), as Rhode Island College wrapped up competition at the 2012 NCAA Div. III Men's Golf Championships.

The Anchormen totaled a team score of 660 (316, 344)) after playing round two at the Mission Inn Resort and Club. RIC finished in 37th place (41 schools). The top 15 institutions made the cut after the first two rounds.

Freshman Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) shot a 166 (79, 87), which tied him for 169th. Classmate Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) also recorded a 166 (81, 85) to equal Ford's effort. Butler joined Leigh with an 85 on day two to lead the Anchormen.

Junior Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) carded a 173 (80, 93) to tie for 192nd.  Classmate Kyle Garcia (Rehoboth, MA) rounded out the RIC contingent with a 181 (94, 87) to tie for 204th.

"It was a tough day today," RIC Head Coach Greg Gammell said. "The El Campeon course played difficult for our team today and the rain added to the difficulty. The experience of playing against the top Div. III teams was exciting and opened our eyes to show where we need to improve in hopes of returning next year. With all five starters returning next year, we should improve because of this experience.  I am proud of the guys and the way they played this week and all year long."

The Anchormen cap off the most successful season in program history, having won the 2011-12 Great Northeast Athletic Conference and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
