Troy, N.Y.-Sophomore Craig Amado (Providence, RI) and freshman Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) earned All-ECAC honors in the triple jump and 400m hurdles, respectively, as Rhode Island College tied for 42nd (63 teams) at the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by RPI on May 17-18.


The Anchormen totaled 7.0 points. Bates won the meet with a score of 61.0.


Amado placed third in the triple jump (14.54m) and 10th in the 400m (49.57), while Forbes took eighth in the 400m hurdles (54.26).


 Sophomore Blest Norris (Grosse Pointe, MI) placed 25th in the preliminaries of the 100m (11.14).


The pair joined junior Austin Pena (Warwick, RI) and junior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) on the 4x400m relay squad, which placed 11th (3:20.28).


Stadnick placed  16th in the 800m (1:55.22). Classmate Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) placed 15th in the 1,500m (3:58.66).


Amado is expected to compete in the triple jump at the 2012 NCAA Div. III Men's Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) on May 24-25. Forbes will also find out if he is selected on Sunday afternoon.
