New London, Conn.-Freshman Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) took first place in five different events as the Rhode Island College women’s track and field team competed at the Coast Guard Winter Invitational on Saturday.


The Anchorwomen finished second out of four teams with a score of 131.0. Coast Guard won the meet with a team score of 181.0.


Braboy earned first place in the 55m (7.58), the 600m (1:42.60), the 200m (27.11), the long jump (4.70m) and the triple jump (10.79m).

Braboy was also part of two relay teams that earned first place finishes. The 4x200m relay team comprised of Braboy, sophomore Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI), freshman Kadijah Johnson (Central Falls, RI) and freshman Chelsea Key (Putnam, CT) took first place with a time of 1:52.45, as did the 4x400m relay team of Braboy, Miller, Key and freshman Kayla Cataldo (Ronkonkoma, NY) with a time of 4:20.54.


Johnson took first in the weight throw (15.02m), while placing fourth in the 55m (7.99) and seventh in the shot (8.10m).


Key finished second in the long jump (4.65m), third in the 200m (29.20) and fifth in the 55m (8.21). Miller finished first in the 400m (1:04.99), while placing second in the 200m (28.81). Cataldo took first in the pole vault (2.90m) and fourth in the 800m (2:36.83).


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21 (10 a.m.).
