Providence, RIóRhode Island College seniors Cynthia Gaudet (Coventry, RI) and Rachel Riley (Coventry, RI) have been named to the All-Northeast Region Team for their performance in womenís basketball this season


Both players have been selected to play in the New England Womenís Basketball Associationís (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic, which will be played at Western New England University on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m.



 Senior guard Cynthia Gaudet


Gaudet, a guard, was named Second Team All-Region. She was the 2012 Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, named First Team All-Little East Conference and was selected to the leagueís All-Defensive Team. Gaudet played in 29 games, starting all of them. She averaged 15.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.3 steals per game. Gaudet was named the Little Eastís Player of the Week once on the season.



 Senior forward Rachel Riley


Riley, a two-time First Team All-Little East forward, was named Third Team All-Region. She is one of only three players in program history with over 1,000 career points and rebounds, totaling 1,263 points and 1,043 boards over the past four seasons. She played in 29 games, starting all of them. Riley averaged 13.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game. Riley was named the Little Eastís Player of the Week once on the season.


Head Coach Marcus Reillyís team finished the season with a 25-4 overall record and a 13-1 (first place) mark in the Little East Conference. RIC closes out the programís most successful campaign, having established new school records for wins (25), winning percentage (.862) and Little East wins (13). The Anchorwomen captured the programís first-ever Little East Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
