Malboeuf Registers Four Kills & Four Blocks

North Quincy, Mass.-Freshman outside hitter Michelle Malboeuf (Cumberland, RI) posted four kills, four blocks and three digs on Saturday afternoon as the Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team fell to UMass Boston, 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-20), in Little East Conference action.


UMass Boston improves to 9-4 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Little East, while Rhode Island College falls to 3-10 overall and 0-2 in the LEC.

Senior middle hitter Shannon Thompson (Moorpark, CA) posted a match-high eight kills, while freshman setter Emma Rocha (Boynton Beach, FL) handed out 26 assists in the win. The Beacons received a standout effort from senior defensive specialist Kayla Wilson (San Jose, CA), who totaled a match-high 14 digs, while junior outside hitter Corrine Porter (Huntington Beach, CA) added seven kills and six digs.


Senior setter Jessica Ho (Providence, RI) totaled 13 assists and six digs to lead the Anchorwomen, while freshman libero Jasmyn Starr (Gilford, NH) finished with eight digs and a pair of aces. Senior outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) posted a trio of kills to go along with four blocks and three digs.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College hosts Emmanuel College on Tuesday, Sept. 25 (7 p.m.), while UMass Boston hits the road to face Bowdoin College on Tuesday as well (7 p.m.).
