Leicester, Mass.-Sophomore forward Danielle Peloquin (Pawtucket, RI) scored the "Golden Goal" in the 104th minute to lead the Rhode Island College women's soccer team past Becker, 4-3, in double overtime on Wednesday afternoon.

The Anchorwomen (2-7) stop a six-game losing streak with the win, while the Hawks (3-5-2) lose for the third straight contest.

Rhode Island College got on the board 7:08 into the game when Peloquin drove a shot into the bottom left corner of the net for an early 1-0 advantage. The Anchorwomen added to their lead in the 12th minute when freshman midfielder Ryley Slater (West Warwick, RI) setup freshman forward Gabrielle Turner (Smithfield, RI) for the marker. Rhode Island College scored their third goal of the half when Turner threaded a pass to freshman midfielder Chelsea Combs (Ashford, CT), which game the Anchorwomen what appeared to be a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Becker finally found the back of the net in the 67th minute when Caroline Plunkett (Belle Harbor, NY) blasted a shot which ricocheted off the crossbar into the net. The Hawks pulled within one of the Anchorwomen when freshman Jaclyn Organgio (Maynard, MA) scored her first collegiate goal. Becker tied the game in the 80th minute when Alycia Dery (Millville, MA) connected with Plunkett for the second time, sending the game into overtime. The Hawks outshot Rhode Island College 12-4 in the second half.

With 6:47 remaining in the second overtime, Turner and Peloquin took advantage of a miscue by the Becker defense, as Peloquin broke in alone for the game-winner.

Rhode Island College goalie Audrey Maia (Norton, MA) made 11 saves in the game, while Becker goalie Melissa Rhodes (Mendon, MA) turned away six shots.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference play at Western Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 6 (noon).
