Providence, R.I.-Former Rhode Island College guard Keith Hamilton (Queens Village, NY) recently signed with BBC Bayreuth 2 in Germany this week, making him the fourth RIC men’s basketball player during Head Coach Bob Walsh’s tenure to join the professional ranks.

Hamilton, who was selected in the third round of the Puerto Rican National Basketball League Draft earlier this year, signed a one-year deal with BBC Bayreuth, a German professional basketball club based in Bayreuth, Bavaria.

Hamilton joins Kinsey Durgin, Amde Tegbaru and Bobby Bailey as former Rhode Island College Anchormen who played for Walsh and have gone on to play professionally. Durgin and Tegbaru spent time overseas in Denmark and Sweden, respectively, while Bailey played for the Manchester Mill Rats of the Premier Basketball League (PBL).

Hamilton closed out his three-year career at RIC having played in 65 games, starting four of them. He totaled 148 points, 49 rebounds, 25 assists and 20 steals during his tenure with the Anchormen, while also draining 38 three-pointers.

Hamilton’s career at RIC was highlighted by a 19-point performance against UMass Dartmouth as a sophomore in 2010. The sharp-shooting swingman went 6-for-6 from downtown in the loss to the Corsairs.
