Providence, R.I.-Sophomore forward Emmanuel Asiedu (Lincoln, RI), freshman midfielder Camilo Estrada (Pawtucket, RI) and senior defender Sean Maguire (Portsmouth, RI) were each named Second Team All-Little East Conference for their respective performances in menís soccer this fall.


Asiedu played in 14 games, starting all of them. He finished the season with five goals and five assists for 15 points. He led the Anchormen in goals, assists and points on the year. Asiedu recorded game-winning goals in the season-opener against Husson (1-0) on Sept. 1 and against UMass Boston (1-0) on Sept. 22 to give RIC its first LEC victory of the season.

Estrada played in 17 games, starting all of them. He tallied four goals and three assists for 11 points, which ranked second on the team. He notched his first career goal in a 1-1 tie against Endicott on Sept. 12 and netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Western Connecticut on Oct. 6. Estrada was named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week twice on the season.

Maguire played in 18 games as both a defender and a midfielder, starting all of them. One of the teamís two captains, Maguire was one of just three Anchormen to start every game of the 2012 season. He finished the season with one goal and one assist for three points, including his first career score in a 3-1 loss against Western New England on Oct. 10.

Head Coach John Melloís Anchormen finished the 2012 season with a 4-13-1 overall record and a 2-5 (fifth place tie) in the Little East Conference.
