Anchorwomen Place 10th at Regional Meet

Waterville, Maine-Rhode Island College freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) claimed the New England Championship in both the 200m and 400m as Rhode Island College placed 10th (25 teams) at the 2013 N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Colby College.


The Anchorwomen totaled a team score of 33.0. MIT won the title with a score of 126.50.


Dorsey earned All-New England honors with the two first place finishes in the 200m (25.35) and the 400m (55.25) as well as the 4x400m relay, which placed third with a time of 3:54.01.

Sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI), junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) and freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) joined Dorsey on the 4x400m relay. The quartet also placed seventh in the 4x100m (48.90).


Braboy earned All-New England honors in three events, placing fifth in the triple jump (11.09m), eighth in the 400m (58.42) and as part of the 4x400m.


Wosencroft also placed 10th in the 400m hurdles (1:05.88) and 11th in the long jump (4.96m).


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Stonehill on May 10-11.
