Signoriello got the Anchorwomen (0-1) off on the right foot with a goal from sophomore midfielder Jessalyn O'Neill (North Providence, RI) at 3:40 of the first half, but Bridgewater State (2-0) ran off eight straight en route to a  13-4 halftime lead. Ricci cut into the run with a goal at 17:22, only to see BSU rattle off another three straight.

Landon tried to get RIC back into the game with the second half's first two goals at 3:18 and 9:20, but five more Bear goals buried the Anchorwomen's comeback bid.

Bridgewater State sophomore attacker Riley Cachelin (Westwood, MA) and freshman attacker Alexis Haddock (East Lyme, CT) each finished with five goals and two assists for seven-point efforts.  Sophomore goalie Jessica Polaski (Agawam, MA) made seven saves.

The hosts held the advantage in ground balls, 31-15, and forced the Anchorwomen into 32 turnovers. The two squads combined for 75 fouls (RIC: 44; BSU: 31).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Div. II Mercy on Wednesday, March 20 (6 p.m.).
