Plymouth, N.H.-Senior middle hitter Amanda Cabral (Riverside, RI) piled up 18 kills and 19 digs on Saturday as the Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team dropped both ends of a tri-match with Plymouth State (3-1) and Worcester State (3-0) at Foley Gymnasium.

In its first contest of the day, Rhode Island College (0-14, 0-1 LEC) came up short against Little East Conference foe Plymouth State (6-4, 1-0 LEC) in a tightly contested matchup. The Panthers, winners of five straight, jumped out to a hot start in their home opener as they knocked off the Anchorwomen, 25-18, in the first set, and followed with a dominant, 25-3, thrashing in the second set. The visitors stood their ground and bounced back in the third set, en route to a 25-22 victory. However, the Panthers held off RIC with a 25-18 win in the fourth and final set to close out the Anchorwomen.

In total, Malboeuf finished with 14 kills and seven digs to pace RIC alongside Cabral. Palazzini dished out 38 assists to go along with 20 digs, while Stewart registered 10 kills and 16 digs. Johnson led the team in digs with 24.
