Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College junior Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) and  Johnson & Wales junior Pat Paulson (Merrimack, NH) tied for first overall among a field of 40 golfers with an individual score of 72 (E) as Johnson & Wales won the 2013 RIC Fall Invitational, played at Triggs Memorial Golf Course on Friday afternoon.


Ford earned the medalist honor via a tiebreaker (third hole). JWU posted a team score of 301 (+13), besting the hosts by a mere two strokes (303; +15). Wentworth (326; +38) placed third, while Suffolk and Tufts tied for fourth (330; +42). Westfield State (332; +44), RICís B Team (338; +50) and Roger Williams (339; +51) rounded out the field.

JWU senior Sam Parella (Douglas, MA) placed third (74; +2), while RIC senior Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) and junior Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) finished fourth (75; +3) and fifth (76; +4), respectively.


JWU junior Juan Fernandez (Panama City, Panama) tied Butlerís effort. Tufts junior Alex Zorniger (Dayton, OH) and Wentworth junior Dante Christofari (Springfield, MA) tied for seventh (77; +5).


RIC freshman Corey Patalano (Cranston, RI) tied for ninth (78; +6). Sophomore Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) placed 13th (80; +8). Classmate Eddie Francis (Burlington, MA) tied for 24th (84; +12).


Freshman Jonathan Ducharme (Marshfield, MA) and sophomore John Roderick (Hope, RI) tied for 29th (88; +16). Senior Kyle Garcia (Rehoboth, MA) and sophomore Peter Camerlengo (Pembroke, MA) tied for 36th (90; +18).


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, hosted by Johnson & Wales at Cranston Country Club, on Oct. 19-20.
