Rhode Island College (8-12) got on the board first when an RBI single by senior first baseman Justin Rainville (Cumberland, RI) in the top of the first put the Anchormen up 1-0.  Johnson & Wales responded in the bottom of the second after Dickerson led off the frame with a double and later scored after a sacrifice bunt by senior designated hitter Tyler Pacheco (East Hampstead, NH).

The Wildcats took the lead in the bottom of the third, capitalizing on a Rhode Island College miscue for a pair of unearned runs and the 3-1 advantage.  The inning was highlighted by an RBI single from Pacheco. JWU tacked on a run in the fourth after Bocchetti led off the inning with a double and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from senior second baseman Alex Pezzuto (Hastings, NY).

JWU then capped off the scoring in the bottom of the eighth as Dickerson doubled and scored the fifth run of the game on a sacrifice fly by senior first baseman Jack Hocking (Hanover, MA) to give the squad the 5-1 victory.

RIC junior Dylan Cummiskey (Warwick, RI) suffered the setback (2-2) for the Anchormen, allowing three unearned runs on four hits in three innings of work.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference play at Keene State on Saturday, April 12 (noon).
