Medford, Mass.-Sophomore Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) took first place in the long jump (5.20m) to help lead the Rhode Island College women’s indoor track & field team to a sixth place finish (17 teams) at the 2014 Tufts University Stampede Invitational on Saturday.


The Anchorwomen posted a score of 41.50, while MIT won the meet with a score of 231.50.


Wosencroft also placed second in the 200m (26.43), sixth in the triple jump (10.26m) and 10th in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles (8.41).

Junior Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) finished second in the triple jump (10.48m), third in the 600m (1:41.52) and 11th in the long jump (4.27m).


Freshman Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) placed third in the weight throw (15.37m) and 13th in the shot (10.17m).


Freshman Sierra Smith (Foster, RI) finished eighth in the high jump (1.48m), ninth in the triple jump (9.62m), and 13th in the 400m (1:07.11).


Junior Jenna Pare (Tiverton, RI) placed 11th in the 1,000m (3:21.13), while freshman Abigail Dandurand (Hope Valley, RI) finished 12th in the 5,000m (20:43.24).


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College competes at Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 8 (9 a.m.).
