Milton, Mass.-Junior Sadie Campanella (Chepachet, RI) and freshman Kim Daigle (Sterling, MA) combined for a win at No. 1 doubles, and won at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, as the Rhode Island College women's tennis team increased their win streak to four matches with an 8-1 victory at Curry on Tuesday afternoon.


Campanella and Daigle breezed through their match at No. 1 doubles, defeating Curry (0-3) junior Kimberly Love (Windsor Locks, CT) and sophomore Kayla Prete (Orange, CT), 8-1 to give the Anchorwomen (4-0) the point.


Sophomores Julie Reddy (Greenville, RI) and Noelle Tiberi (Smithfield, RI) topped the Colonelsí duo of freshman Laura Ferris (Shelton, CT) and junior Hannah Erickson (Mount Desert, ME), 8-1, at No. 2 doubles to give RIC the 2-0 lead. RIC junior Tressa Cannata (Cranston, RI) and freshman Isabella Romeo (Greenville, RI) won by forfeit at third doubles.

Singles action saw Campanella top Love (6-0, 6-2), at the top flight, while Daigle topped Prete (6-1, 6-1) at No. 2 singles. Third singles saw Reddy best Ferris (6-0, 6-1). No. 4 singles saw the Colonels earn their lone point of the day when Erickson defeated Cannata, as Cannata retired early due to illness.


The last contested match of the day was at No. 5 singles where Tiberi defeated freshman Alexandra Moschetto (Hampton Falls, NH) (6-0, 6-1) to earn the point.  No. 6 saw another Curry forfeit with the Romeo gaining the point for the visitors.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Gordon on Thursday, Sept. 11 (4 p.m.).
