Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College menís soccer senior midfielder Emmanuel Asiedu (Lincoln, RI) was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) by being named to the 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire Div. III All-New England Second Team as announced by the NSCAA office on Wednesday afternoon. 


As a senior in 2014, Asiedu played in 17 games, starting all of them. He recorded 13 goals and five assists for 31 points, tops in the Little East Conference. He was named First Team All-Little East for his performance and recorded six game-winning goals, while going a perfect 5-for-5 on penalty kicks. He tallied the game-tying assist and scored the game-winning penalty kick goal in extra time in a 4-3 victory over Plymouth St. on Oct. 11.




Asiedu wraps up his illustrious career at RIC having played in 61 games, starting 53 of them. A three-time All-Little East Conference selection, Asiedu wraps up his career ranking eighth all-time in goals (32) and eighth all-time in points (80). He finished his career with 16 assists and 14 game-winning goals.


Head Coach John Melloís team went 12-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 (second place tie) in the Little East Conference. The Anchormen advanced to the semi-finals of the LEC tournament, but were defeated by eventual champion UMass Boston, 1-0, on Nov. 5.
