Amherst, Mass.-The No. 2-ranked Amherst College women’s basketball team used a game-high 19-point effort from sophomore guard Ali Doswell (Richmond, VA) to cruise to a 74-35 victory over Rhode Island College in women’s basketball action on Wednesday night at LeFrak Gymnasium.

The Lord Jeffs (7-0) jumped out to an early, 14-3, lead in the first 5:31 of play and never looked back. A layup by RIC (2-7) junior guard Michelle Lagrotteria (Niantic, CT) at the 13:42 mark cut the deficit to single digits and a bucket from junior forward Devin Hill (Danielson, CT) on RIC’s next possession put the Anchorwomen within six, 14-8, but a three-pointer from freshman guard Hannah Hackley (Westford, MA) sparked a 15-0 Amherst run.

Amherst took a commanding 46-14 lead into the break.
