Jess Korzec Tabbed to All-Rookie & All-Defensive Teams

Providence, R.I.-Sophomore guard Alex Moore (West Newbury, MA) was named Second Team All-Little East, while freshman guard Jess Korzec (West Brookfield, MA) was named to the All-Rookie and All-Defensive teams, for their respective performances in womenís basketball this season.


Moore played in 25 games, starting all of them. She averaged 12.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.9 spg. Moore led the team in both assists and free throw percentage (76.8 percent), while ranking second in scoring and steals.

Korzec played in 24 games, starting 18 of them. She averaged 11.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.8 apg and 2.2 spg. Korzec led the team and was third in the Little East with 53 steals. She also paced the Anchorwomen and was fourth in the league in field goal percentage (.472). Korzec was third on the team in scoring.

Head Coach Glenn Senecalís team finished the season with a 7-18 overall record and a 5-9 mark (seventh place) in the Little East. The Anchorwomen were the seventh seed in the Little East Conference Tournament and fell in the quarterfinals to second-seeded UMass Dartmouth, 67-49, on Feb. 24.
