Framingham, Mass.-Rhode Island College junior midfielder Jaclyn Greenman (Waterford, CT) tallied her fourth goal of the season as the Anchorwomen fell, 2-1, in double overtime to Framingham State in women’s soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.


The Rams (5-2) got on the board in the 27th minute when junior midfielder Lulu Foy (East Bridgewater, MA) took a feed from junior defender Angela Pallotta (Sterling, MA) and ripped a shot in the lower left corner of the goal for the 1-0 advantage. The Anchorwomen (1-6) tightened up defensively and were able to escape the half down just one.


RIC freshman goalkeeper Stefanie Togbasi (Providence, RI) recorded on save in the half, while FSU freshman keeper Keyonzia Gagne-Lamoureux (East Brookfield, MA) turning aside three.

Greenman was able to even the score in the 65th minute when she took a long lead pass from freshman forward Brittany DeGrooth (Westerly, RI) and blasted it into the right corner to knot the game at 1-1. The two squads would remain scoreless until the 110th minute when senior forward Brini Varetimos (North Attleboro, MA) found a loose ball following a corner kick and slipped it home to give the Rams the victory.


Togbasi (0-2) registered six saves in the contest, four of which came in the second half. Gagne-Lamoureux (2-0) recorded four saves in the victory. RIC was outshot, 32-11, with the Rams also holding an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference action at UMass Dartmouth on Friday, Sept. 25 (7 p.m.).
