Keene, N.H.--Keene State freshman forward Katelyn Bottis (Rutland, MA) had two goals and an assist to lead the Owls women's soccer team to a 6-0 win over Rhode Island College in Little East Conference action played at the Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.


Keene State (7-3-2, 3-1 LEC) wasted no time in getting on the board, scoring just 44 seconds into the game, when junior midfielder Brittany Tolla (Newton, CT) sent a cross into the box from the left side, it was tipped to senior midfielder Ellen Granata (North Hampton, NH) who notched her fourth of the season. Freshman midfielder Patricia Norton (Hampton, CT) was also credited with an assist.

KSC made the score 2-0 in the 10th minute when senior midfielder Shannon Summers (Keene, NH) found a carom off the crossbar and tapped it home to double to hostís advantage.


Sophomore midfielder Katie Silegy (Keene, NH) set up Bottis for her first career goal in the 19th minute, with sophomore forward Morgan Kathan (Ludlow, VT) also getting on the board with an assist going to sophomore midfielder Kali Santino (West Chesterfield, NH) in the 34th minute.


Bottis laid off a pass for Silegy to score in the 39th minute, and the freshman wrapped up the scoring five minutes before halftime with a looping effort over Rhode Island College (1-11, 0-4 LEC) freshman goalkeeper Katherine Haley (Hope, RI).


Keene State outshot the Anchorwomen, 21-3.  Haley (0-7) finished with nine saves. Junior Danielle Warhall (Spofford, NH) (7-3-2) and senior Kathryn Hoar (Plymouth, MA) combined for one save in the victory.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Fitchburg State on Wednesday, Oct. 14 (6 p.m.).
