CURRAN LEADS ANCHORWOMEN AT
LOUISE GOODRUM INVITATIONAL

North Dartmouth, Mass.--Rhode Island College sophomore Sydney Curran (North Kingstown, RI) notched four top-five finishes to lead the Rhode Island College swimming team at the 2015 Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.

 

Curran finished first in the 100-yard breast (1:16.34), second in the 50-yard breast (33.86), fifth in both the 50-yard butterfly (30.73) and the 100-yard IM (1:09.81) and ninth in the 50-yard freestyle (28.06). She was also a member of the ninth place 200-yard medley relay (2:13.67) and the sixth place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:58.41) squads.

 

Freshman Madison Lane (Barrington, RI) finished eighth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:15.54), 14th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:16.36), 15th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.99) 27th in the 50-yard freestyle (29.88). She was also a member of the ninth place 200-yard medley relay (2:13.67) and the sixth place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:58.41) squads.

Junior Abbie Leazes (Providence, RI) finished fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:05.41), eighth in both the 1,650-yard freestyle relay (21:03.97) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:37.85), ninth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:19.62), 10th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:21.20), 20th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.10), 22nd in the 50-yard freestyle (29.69). She was also a member of the ninth place 200-yard medley relay (2:13.67) and the sixth place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:58.41) squads.

 

Freshman Kimberly Olivos (Providence, RI) finished 42nd in the 100-yardfreestyle (1:33.13) and the 50-yard freestyle (39.70).

 

Freshman Courtney Payne (Waterford, CT) finished 11th in the 50-yard breast (38.33), 12th in the 100-yard breast (1:25.83) and 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.55). She was also a member of the ninth place 200-yard medley relay (2:13.67) and the sixth place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:58.41) squads.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Nov. 14 (11 a.m.).
