Joins Zarraga & Plude on All-LEC Squads

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomore forward Komla Dogbey (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference Menís Soccer Offensive Player of the Year and joined senior forward Jose Zarraga (Providence, RI) and senior defender Joey Plude (East Haddam, CT) on the All-Little East Team.


Dogbey, who was also named First Team All-Little East, played in 18 games, starting 17 of them. He totaled 16 goals and six assists for 38 points on the season. He led the squad in shots (87), game-winning goals (six), goals and points. Dogbey is currently leading the Little East in both goals and points. He is currently 12th all-time at RIC in both career goals (24) and points (57).

Zarraga was named First Team All-Little East. He played in 17 games, starting 16 of them. Zarraga totaled eight goals, six assist and 22 points. He was second on the team with three game-winning goals. Zarraga was a Second Team All-Little East selection as a junior in 2014. For his career, he played in 69 games, starting 52 of them. Zarraga compiled 20 goals, 12 assists, 52 points and five game-winning goals. He is 15th all-time in career goals and 14th in career points.

Plude was named Second Team All-Little East. He played in 16 games, starting 15 of them and anchored the RIC defensive unit. Plude played in 37 career games, starting 36 of them. He had one goal and two assists for four career points.

Head Coach John Melloís team finished the season with an 11-7 overall record and a 5-2 (third place tie) mark in the Little East. Fourth-seeded RIC upset top-seeded Eastern Connecticut, 1-0, in the semifinals of the 2015 Little East Conference Menís Soccer Tournament, before falling to third-seeded UMass Boston, 2-1, in overtime of the Championship Game.
