Keene, N.H.- Keene State College junior attacker Taylor Graf (Hanover, MA) scored two goals and contributed six assists to lead the Owls to a 17-3 victory over Rhode Island College in Little East Conference women’s lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.


The Owls (4-5, 1-0 LEC) opened the scoring just 54 seconds into the game when freshman midfielder Samantha Ballard (Queensbury, NY) scored off a feed from sophomore midfielder Taylor Farland (Fiskdale, MA). The Anchorwomen (3-4, 0-1 LEC) responded just 43 seconds later when freshman attacker Tess Bradley (Tiverton, RI) notched an unassisted marked to knot the game at 1-1. Keene outscored the Anchorwomen 10-0 in the remainder of the half, paced by a pair of goals from senior midfielder Kaitlin Nolan (Mahopac, NY) and another two from sophomore midfielder Tori Weinstock (Brookfield, CT) to enter halftime with an 11-1 advantage.


RIC freshman goalie Julia Eaton (Cumberland, RI) stopped 10 shots in the half, while the Owls held a 25-1 advantage in shots in the stanza.

Graf got the Owls offense started early in the second half, netting an unassisted tally just 2:31 into the second half to put the hosts up by 11, 12-1. RIC responded, with junior midfielder Betsy Heidel (Warwick, RI) and freshman attacker Alison Nolan (Topsham, ME) each notching an unassisted marker, to make the score 12-3 with 22:12 to play. The Owls finished the contest out by scoring five unanswered goals from five different players.


Eaton (3-4) finished with 13 saves with Heidel, Alison Nolan and Bradley all notching unassisted goals in the game. Argiro (3-5) picked up the victory for the Owls in one half of work. Graf led the way with two goals and six assists for eight points. Kaitlin Nolan led all scorers with three goals to go along with a pair of assists in the victory.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Worcester State on Tuesday, April 5 (6 p.m.).
